3 Organising and conducting multispectral surveys using UAVs
Multispectral remote sensing using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is currently regarded as one of the most promising methods for obtaining spectral and spatial information about the Earth's surface and individual objects. This technology enables more detailed data acquisition while also facilitating the coverage of larger areas.
Conducting a multispectral survey requires specialised hardware capable of measuring the reflectance of objects across multiple spectral bands. In general, the survey workflow involves flight route planning, equipment configuration, aerial image acquisition, and subsequent data processing. The quality and reliability of the resulting data, which serve as the basis for further analysis and the generation of specialised prescription maps, depend largely on the proper execution of each of these stages.
